The National Police of Ukraine and mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation that will provide the police with access to Vodafone’s Telescope SMS messaging platform. This will help improve the system for searching for missing children.

The SMS Telescope corporate service works on the basis of Big Data and uses special algorithms for data processing and analysis, which allows you to form a target audience according to various criteria: location, age, gender, interests, etc., the Vodafone press service reports.
Thanks to the cooperation, police representatives will be able to customize the distribution of messages with signs of a missing child to the appropriate target audience, taking into account geography, age, and other parameters.
«This will significantly reduce response time and mobilize society to return the child home as soon as possible,» Vodafone explains.
The National Police say that the chances of finding a missing child increase exponentially if as many people as possible join the search, especially during the first hours after the disappearance. The main goal is to ensure maximum coverage of official information to those who can potentially help.
«Cooperation with Vodafone Ukraine is a powerful step towards even faster and broader public awareness, which is critically important for the successful return of every child,» emphasized Vasyl Bohdan, Head of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine.
Olga Deynega, Director of Corporate Governance and Control at Vodafone Ukraine, noted that the company provided police access to Telescope because they are convinced that «technology should serve people.»
