The Spyder NRC has modifications to perform various tasks, for example, for logistical support or certain engineering tasks, the Ministry of Defense reports .
The Spider is compact in size — it can fit 2 robots in the back of a military pickup truck. The ground-based robotic platform weighs just over 50 kg, and can carry up to a hundredweight of payload.
The robots have 4 engines, which increases the mobility and endurance of the NRC in combat conditions. The battery charge is enough for several hours of continuous movement.
A feature of robotic platforms is their maneuverability and ease of control, the ability to operate in the range of enemy electronic warfare equipment, and perform complex maneuvers in a confined space. "Spiders" dynamically overcome steep slopes and can move with a roll.
Recall that the Ministry of Defense codified and approved for operation the ground drone "Gulliver" . Despite its relatively small size, it is capable of pulling a small SUV out of the mud.
Also among other NRCs that the defense department has admitted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the ground-based robotic complex "Ravlyk" , which easily overcomes off-road terrain, swamps, sandbanks, narrow ditches, and low vertical obstacles.
