The most popular article on the Ukrainian Wikipedia is the article «Ukraine» — it was viewed over 765,000 times in 2025. Articles about Kyiv and about the murdered Ukrainian politician Andriy Parubiy share second and third place (about 500,000 views each). Donald Trump and Taras Shevchenko also made the top 5.
Ukrainians traditionally read a lot on Wikipedia about the Russian-Ukrainian war and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The first place among these topics was taken by the article about the 3rd Assault Brigade (over 264,000 views), followed by the «Armed Forces of Ukraine» (263,244) and the «Azov» brigade (229,614).
Among the articles about TV series, the most popular were the American «Strange Wonders» and the Ukrainian «To Catch Kaidash» (236 thousand and 154 thousand views, respectively), and the most popular film was the Ukrainian «You Are the Cosmos» (145 thousand).
Readers of the Ukrainian Wikipedia were interested in news topics. For example, among cities and countries, an article about Greenland made it into the top 10 (194 thousand views), and there were also traditional surges in popularity of articles about people who died last year.
«Despite a certain decline in the school curriculum (probably due to artificial intelligence), a number of articles on this list are stable: the public regularly looks at articles about Ukraine, Shevchenko, sex, and military ranks of Ukraine. And there are also unexpected changes: for example, for the first time an article about the Third World War surpassed the First and Second in popularity,» commented Mykola Kozlenko, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the NGO «Wikimedia Ukraine» and administrator of the Ukrainian section of Wikipedia.
