Patrick Nathen, co-owner of the German company Lilium, which develops electric air vehicles with vertical takeoff and landing, announced the signing of an asset purchase agreement with a consortium of investors, after previous news about the company’s closure.
Nathan wrote about this on his LinkedIn page, calling it a Christmas miracle.
«After the successful closing of the deal, all employees whose contracts were terminated last Friday will join this 'new beginning,'» he announced.
Before that, Naten reported that after more than 10 years of existence, Lilium was forced to cease operations.
A news release on the company’s official website dated December 24 reports the signing of an asset purchase agreement with Mobile Uplift Corporation GmbH. The company intends to acquire the operating assets of its subsidiaries Lilium GmbH and Lilium eAircraft GmbH.
The deal, according to Lilium’s expectations, will allow the subsidiaries to obtain sufficient financing to resume their business operations.
Recall that on December 20, Lilium terminated contracts with its employees, and the company itself was in bankruptcy proceedings.
In 2017, Lilium announced plans to launch the Lilium Jet, designed for the air taxi market, by 2025.
