Global Drone Academy in Riga begins training drone pilots and operators

The Global Drone Academy UAV operator training center is the first Ukrainian center to officially enter the European market by launching GDA Baltic in Latvia. This is an expansion of the presence of Ukrainian technology companies in the security sector, advocacy of Ukraine’s interests in the EU defense sector, and demonstration of the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry to ensure the security interests of EU countries.

Anton Veklenko, head of Global Drone Academy, says: «The training lasted a year. Thanks to like-minded people from the Baltics, the legal entity GDA Baltic was created — a full-fledged training center capable of conducting systematic and regular training, the CEO and the team underwent training in Kyiv.»

GDA methods were adapted to European conditions and European legislation regarding training in safe and effective drone control in extreme conditions.

This work was initiated by leading experts — the head of Global Drone Academy Anton Veklenko and the CEO of GDA Baltic Anton Kreslins. The course program: extreme use of drones and target detection (within the framework of training scenarios).

According to GDA Baltic CEO Anton Kreslins: «In the face of growing military threats, Ukraine’s practical experience in the field of UAVs is unique at the global level. Today, Ukraine is a leader in innovations in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in extreme conditions — in the air, on land, in water.»

«The launch of the training center in Latvia is an undeniable success, but this is only the beginning of international expansion. The development of multilingual online formats to work with a wide audience of interested specialists is our next goal,» added Anton Veklenko.

When asked what the next plans are, Anton Kreslinš commented: «We are analyzing the experience gained and planning the next courses in the Baltic countries, taking into account the development of partnerships in the Scandinavian countries and the countries of Northern Europe to form a powerful hub in Latvia.»

It is worth recalling that Global Drone Academy trains and certifies UAV instructors, offering the best employment both in Ukraine and abroad with booking.
