Norwegian defense company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) has signed an agreement with a Ukrainian partner to jointly develop and produce surface drones in Ukraine using Norwegian technology and experience.
Norwegian defense company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) has signed an agreement with a Ukrainian partner to jointly develop and produce surface drones in Ukraine using Norwegian technology and experience.
In 2025, Norway has allocated approximately 6.7 billion Norwegian kroner to support the maritime coalition, which it co-leads with the United Kingdom.
"Part of this funding will be used for the development and production of unmanned naval vessels using KDA technology, with production in Ukraine," said Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik.
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is one of three business units of the Norwegian company Kongsberg Gruppen and a supplier of defense and space systems and products, mainly anti-ship missiles, military communications equipment, weapons command and control systems for naval vessels and NASAM air defense systems.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that KDA opened an office in Ukraine on June 22. The cooperation will include projects in the production of interceptors, strengthening air defense, and maritime defense.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received Ukrainian TERMIT unmanned ground systems, which can be equipped with Browning machine guns or Starlink terminals
