Google has added a new feature to its AI research tool NotebookLM that allows it to generate animated videos.
Previously, developers had already added videos to NotebookLM, but the functionality was limited to generating slideshows with comments .
The updated video review feature uses a combination of Google’s AI models, «including Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro, and Veo 3,» to generate animated visuals based on user notes.
Google says that Gemini AI «identifies the best narrative, visual style, and format, and refines its own work to ensure consistency» when generating videos.
Cinematic videos are already available in NotebookLM for users over 18 who have a Google AI Ultra subscription, but they currently only support English. There is also a limit of 20 cinematic videos per day.
