Gartner surveyed 360 influencers from organizations with at least 250 full-time employees. Only 15% of them are considering, piloting, or deploying fully autonomous agents, The Register reports .
Roughly three-quarters of those surveyed are already testing or using some form of AI agents. However, this data suggests that only a small percentage are ready for the next step—a full transition to autonomous driving.
Only 19% fully trusted their vendors to protect against AI glitches (hallucinations), while a whopping 74% feared that AI agents were creating a new vulnerability for cyberattacks in their organization.
The data presented demonstrates that the gap between the loud promises of autonomous AI and its practical implementation in the corporate sector is growing.
Gartner Senior Analyst Max Goss said: “Governance issues, lack of maturity, and uncontrolled agent growth continue to hinder the implementation of full-fledged agent-based AI.”
