OpenAI said the amount includes $30 billion from SoftBank, $30 billion from NVIDIA and $50 billion from Amazon. The new preliminary valuation of the company was $730 billion. Last fall, OpenAI was valued at $500 billion after a $6.6 billion round of stock sales from current and former employees.
«These partnerships expand our global reach, deepen our infrastructure, and strengthen our balance sheet so we can bring cutting-edge AI technologies to more people, businesses, and communities around the world,» the company said in a statement.

OpenAI also reported that since the beginning of the year, the number of weekly users of the AI assistant for programmers Codex has more than tripled — to 1.6 million. And the number of users of the paid business subscription to ChatGPT is 9 million. In total, ChatGPT already has 900 million active users every week, of which 50 million have a paid subscription.

In response, OpenAI’s CFO Sarah Friar released data showing that the company’s revenue has tripled over the past year and is increasing in proportion to the capabilities of its AI infrastructure.
