Nova Poshta plans to create a legal entity in China by the end of 2026. This was reported to Forbes Ukraine by Vyacheslav Klimov, co-owner of the Nova group of companies.
According to him, it is unlikely that the company will start opening local branches. For now, Nova plans to enter the Chinese market with minimal investment in transport and buildings, and instead focus on working with contractors and software. They plan to initially invest about $100,000 in the project.
«The goal is to create a win-win collaboration, where Nova will offer Chinese businesses logistics products according to the Fast, Easy, Safe standard,» Nova Poshta explained.
The company expects that by the end of 2027, Nova’s shipment volume in China could reach 1 million parcels per month. Nova’s Business Development Manager Oleksiy Taranenko noted that Chinese goods are found in almost every household, and the volume of shipments from this country is one of the largest in the world. Entering this market is strategic, as it will allow Nova to significantly increase delivery volumes and strengthen the company’s position as a global player.
«Having mastered the ‘crazy’ trade turnover [of China], even a few percent of profit means additional hundreds of millions of hryvnias for Nova,» Taranenko explained.
Recall that in February , Nova Poshta opened a shipping service to Ukraine for customers in the United States, having agreed to cooperate with the American delivery service UPS. During the year, the company plans to expand its presence in the country: routes to Los Angeles and Miami will soon be added to the current office in New Jersey.
In less than two years , Nova Poshta has been operating in 16 European countries. But during this time, not all markets have become profitable for the company.
