A demonstration of the latest version of the Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drone with artificial intelligence took place in Kyiv.
It was shown to a British delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Great Britain David Lammy, the Ministry of Defense reported.
The Octopus drone was developed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is equipped with an artificial intelligence-based control system. It is designed to shoot down Shahed drones. The drone is being manufactured in Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
In November 2025, delegations from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom signed a license agreement for the Octopus interceptor drone, which paved the way for its production in the United Kingdom.
It was previously reported that production of Octopus interceptor drones will reach 1,000 units in February.
The Octopus concept is to give the Armed Forces of Ukraine a cheap and technologically simple tool against the Shaheds, to reduce the burden on expensive air defense systems and improve the economy of air defense. Recall that the Ukrainian company General Chereshnya also joined the production of Octopus interceptor drones under license from the Ministry of Defense.
