This is the third major model released by Anthropic in two months. Previously, the startup introduced the Claude Sonnet 4.5 model and later the Claude Haiku 4.5. This is reported by CNBC.
«Our newest model, Claude Opus 4.5, is now available. It is intelligent, efficient, and the best model in the world for coding, agents, and computing. It is also significantly better at everyday tasks like deep research and working with slides and spreadsheets,» the company says.
Anthropic calls Claude Opus 4.5 a «major step forward» in AI and a «work of art» in programming. It’s also a state-of-the-art model for agent programming, outperforming models like Google’s Gemini 3 Pro, which was announced just last week, and OpenAI’s GPT-5.1, according to SWE-bench Verified, a benchmark that measures the software coding capabilities of an AI system.
Anthropic said it tested Claude Opus 4.5 on its own complex benchmark that it conducts for prospective performance engineers, and the model scored higher than any human candidate.
The Claude Opus 4.5 is aimed at professional software developers, IT professionals, financial analysts and accountants. The new model is also «significantly better» at everyday tasks such as working with spreadsheets and slides, as well as conducting in-depth research.
Claude Opus 4.5 will be available everywhere and will become the standard model for Anthropic Pro, Max and Enterprise products.
