Ukrainian defense tech company Frontline Robotics presented a new universal NRC "Frodo"

Ukrainian defense tech company Frontline Robotics announced the expansion of its ground robotics business and presented the universal ground robotic complex (GRC) "Frodo". The six-wheeled platform is designed to perform strike, logistics, and evacuation tasks on the front line.

The Frodo NRC has already been officially codified. The new development is a strategic step for the company to build a multi-domain robotic ecosystem and move from the air domain to the ground domain.

"Frodo" is created according to the "designer" principle and has a modular architecture, which allows the robot to be quickly adapted to the needs of a specific unit or mission.

Technical parameters of NRC:

  • Maximum speed: up to 40 km/h.

  • Load capacity: effective - up to 200 kg, maximum - up to 400 kg.

  • Range: up to 150 km.

  • Cross-country ability: 6×6 adaptive independent suspension, 170–330 mm ground clearance and a low center of gravity allow you to overcome pits, stones and fallen trees.

  • Survivability: the complex remains mobile even if one of the wheels is lost. Quick battery replacement is possible with the efforts of one person.

  • Optics and communications: Equipped with two day/night cameras (and two thermal cameras on request). Supports Starlink, LTE, Silvus, ELRS, and TBS communications.

The robot's high speed and maneuverability significantly reduce the time spent in dangerous areas and reduce the risk of being hit by enemy drones during cargo delivery.

The platform can be used for:

  1. Logistics and evacuation: safe transportation of ammunition, equipment or wounded.

  2. Fire damage: Frodo integrates with the Storm robotic turret from Frontline Robotics, and also supports the installation of combat modules with an automatic grenade launcher or a large-caliber machine gun.

“We see the future of the battlefield as a robotic environment, where it is critically important to control not only the air, but also the ground. If drones have already changed the principles of warfare in the sky, then ground robotics is now going through the same stage of development on the ground. For Frontline Robotics, the development of NRC is a strategic step towards building a multi-domain robotic ecosystem,” notes Yevgeny Tretyak, CEO of Frontline Robotics.

As the head of the Frodo project notes, combining the NRC with combat modules makes it possible to minimize human participation in the most dangerous areas, while increasing the accuracy and speed of operations.

Frontline Robotics also trains operators for combat units. Military personnel can now apply to test the system.
