As Planet Kino reported to Forbes Ukraine, only 16 selected films from the top positions of world film ratings will appear in the online cinema.
Each film will be accompanied by a teaser, a trailer that will immerse the viewer in the context of the event, and an aftermovie. The trailer will last 10-15 minutes and will tell about the director, the crew, and other interesting facts about the film. The aftermovie may include an analysis of the film or specific scenes, interviews with the creators of the film, or «just something interesting,» Planet Kino says. It is noted that investments in the launch of the online cinema have reached more than $1 million.
The online cinema is already operating in beta on an updated website, mobile app, and AndroidTV app. At the same time, Planeta Kino plans to enter smart TV screens: expand to Tizen (Samsung), Apple TV, webOS (LG) operating systems, and create products for tablets.
Planeta Online offers three subscription options:
«Date» with access for 3 days for 39 UAH.
«Friendship» with access for 1 month for 129 UAH.
«Love» with access for 6 months for 699 UAH.
The first 16 films are already available for online viewing. Among them are two parts of «Paddington» and the 2019 Ukrainian film «Atlantis» about the Russian war against Ukraine.
Recall that earlier the State Film Fund of Ukraine and the audiovisual archive of Ukrainian cinema «Dovzhenko-Center» announced the appearance of its own online cinema. Within an hour, the website «Dovzhenko-Center. Online» became temporarily unavailable due to numerous users.
