The Ministry of Justice is considering creating an "online divorce" service in the video conference format
The head of the Central Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice, Kyrylo Minenko, said that, by analogy with «online marriages», an «online divorce» service may appear in Ukraine if there is a corresponding request for it.
The head of the Central Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice, Kyrylo Minenko, said that, by analogy with «online marriages», an «online divorce» service may appear in Ukraine if there is a corresponding request for it.
«We are currently investigating whether the electronic divorce service in the video conference format will be in demand. We are investigating whether it is worth doing it. We do not exclude that such a service will be available if our citizens need it. For example, in cases where spouses do not live together,» Minenko said.
According to him, the demand for the «online marriage» service is constantly growing, and in times of «covid» and full-scale invasion, more Ukrainians are getting married than getting divorced. According to Kyrylo Minenko, since the launch of the «online marriage» service, 18,272 Ukrainian couples have applied for it.
«The service was created primarily for those citizens who cannot come to state civil status centers for one reason or another. In particular, this can be done if someone is abroad. For example, if the bride is abroad or the groom is currently fighting at the front,» explained a representative of the Ministry of Justice.
