Now you can start a conference call with end-to-end encryption in Telegram without creating a group chat — perfect for spontaneous meetings with colleagues or chatting with friends and family.
With updated group calls, users can:
Group calls are protected with end-to-end encryption. Participants can confirm this by comparing the 4 emojis shown on their screens: if they all match, the call is fully secure.
Additionally, group calls use blockchain-like technology to ensure that, unlike other apps, no one — not even Telegram — can secretly join as a listener, the company claims .
You can send the call link to others—even via email or other apps—so they can join the call when they’re ready. This is perfect for scheduling group calls in advance or letting friends join at a time that’s convenient for them.
The link menu also allows you to generate a QR code for others to scan. Simply click the button and select "Get QR Code".
Telegram Business (Telegram Premium) users can add third-party chatbots, including those powered by artificial intelligence, to automatically manage messages. This update introduces over 10 new features that allow businesses to fully automate their messages, profile, operations, and stories.
You can manage permissions for third-party chatbots using simplified settings like “Message Management” or “Profile Management,” with individual toggles for specific actions like deleting messages, changing profile photos, posting stories, and more.
Now users can Choose which gifts are displayed on your profile. For example, if you want gifts from your contacts or specific friends to be visible automatically.
Premium users can choose which types of gifts other users can send them . For example, popular accounts that have Star notifications enabled can now set their settings to only accept Unique or Rare gifts, further expanding control over the flow of incoming messages.
To add a Gift button, control which gifts appear on your profile, or choose which gifts you accept, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Gifts.
You can also manage your gifts individually by going to Settings > My Profile and switching to the Gifts tab. Tapping on a gift allows you to:
Users can now appeal their blocking directly in Telegram in case of error.
Instead of being immediately logged out, banned offenders will have their accounts frozen: they will not be able to contact other users, but they will be able to submit an appeal for review by our moderators. If the appeal is successful, the account will be unfrozen and the restrictions will be lifted.
Both iOS and Android have a new gesture for quickly forwarding messages from a channel to your Saved chat or recent contacts with just one tap. Just hold the forward arrow, drag your finger to the chat you want to forward the message to, and release.
For iOS users, there's now an additional gesture to add a story. When viewing recent stories at the top of your chat list, you can swipe right on the story list to instantly open the editor and create a new post.
On iOS, swiping right on the main chat list also opens the story editor.
