“We realized that we were too fragmented across different applications and technology stacks, so it was time to simplify our work,” Simo said in an internal letter to the team. “This fragmentation was causing us to lose momentum and making it harder to maintain the quality bar.”
Top managers expect that merging services into a single platform will allow for more efficient resource allocation. This is critically important for OpenAI amid a fierce market struggle with its main competitor, Anthropic.
