Experts examined the nature of the damage, in particular, the equipment of a critical infrastructure facility, which was one of the enemy’s targets during the attack on the capital on February 3. This is the Darnytsia CHP.
According to the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitaliy Klitschko, the Darnytsia CHP provided heat supply, in particular, to some houses in the Darnytsia and Dniprovs’kyi districts — more than 1,100 high-rise buildings. In these houses, on the morning of February 3, the water in the heating systems was drained to avoid freezing.
«Currently, the conclusions of experts are that the facility has received critical damage and it will take at least two months to restore its systems and equipment. (If there are no further devastating blows from the enemy),» Klitschko noted. He added that DTEK is organizing the most loyal electricity supply schedules for houses without heat in the Darnytsia and Dnipro districts in the current situation.
The city, according to Klitschko, has deployed additional heating support points in schools in microdistricts whose houses were left without heat. There are currently 5 additional points connected to mobile boiler rooms and where you can stay both day and night in Darnytsia district, and 4 in Dnipro district. (In addition to those that worked there before). The State Emergency Service is also deploying 36 additional heating points in Darnytsia and 27 points in Dnipro district. The addresses of the points can be found on the official resources of the RDA, city authorities, and the State Emergency Service.
Klitschko also recalled that the capital has deployed places in one of the former city sanatoriums for the temporary relocation of socially vulnerable Kyiv residents, whose homes lack heat and electricity due to shelling. The facility has 60 places for Kyiv residents. But if necessary, they are ready to double them. «The building has heat and light. Social workers from the Kyiv City Territorial Center are with the residents around the clock, helping with everyday life, care, and support,» he noted.
The city also has the possibility of temporarily relocating single older people to geriatric nursing homes.
«If you know someone who needs such assistance, please contact the district territorial centers or the Kyiv City Tercenter at: 044 450 91 66. Social workers offer temporary relocation to all older people who are registered and under their care,» Klitschko added.

Businesses have become real points of invincibility for Kyiv residents. Restaurants, shops, gas stations, shopping malls, and post offices invite you to warm up and recharge. In communal «points of invincibility,» people often just throw up their hands.
