Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukrainian intelligence services had hacked into the smartphones of Hungarian citizens. His words may refer to reports that a Ukrainian IT company was making an app for the Hungarian opposition party Tisza.
«They have infiltrated public life and politics, providing technological assistance to their allies to help them gain power here. We used to say: 'The Russians are already in the pantry,' now we have to say: 'The Ukrainians are already in your smartphone.' We will not allow this!» Viktor Orban said in an interview.
The European Truth newspaper reports that Hungarian media previously claimed that the Ukrainian company PettersonApps may have been working on developing an application for the opposition party Tisza. The Hungarian publication Index noted that the application had leaked data of 18,000 users.
Tysa denied these reports and stated that its application was developed by Hungarian specialists. The party confirmed that the leaked data contained information related to its community, but did not confirm the source of this information.
