“Where next?” The AI CTO of the Ministry of Digital Affairs made a provocative post in which he summed up his work at the ministry. Many experts thought that he was looking for a new job, but it turned out that it was an AI experiment
AI CTO of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Dmytro Ovcharenko published a post on LinkedIn yesterday with the question «Where next?». Part of the IT community decided that he was leaving his position and looking for a new job.
AI CTO of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Dmytro Ovcharenko published a post on LinkedIn yesterday with the question «Where next?». Part of the IT community decided that he was leaving his position and looking for a new job.
«The last period is, without exaggeration, the most active in my life. And with each month, the pace only increased: from the first conversations and a «draft» vision to systematic work with AI at the state level. During this time, we have actually closed almost all the areas that are needed for AI to actually work in the Ministry — not as a presentation, but as an infrastructure, process, and product. «How to build AI optimizations, how to implement them into state processes, how to launch assistants on a national scale in «Diya» — and how to make sure it doesn’t «fall apart» after the first successful release,» Ovcharenko noted .
He noted that during his work — more than a year — he «lived in the „Action.AI"/AI Factory» mode. „Met incredible people from Ukraine and beyond; worked (or touched upon work) with many top companies in the world; dozens (hundreds?) of sonks and meetings; every day we collect gigabytes of the Ukrainian corpus; went through a quest with lawyers: flow, compliance, optimizations — so that AI could be launched correctly; together with the team, optimized HR processes (and saw how much in government systems depends on people); — transferred the support of the Action to AI — and we really saved hundreds of hours of manual work; made a bunch of architectural decisions: from 'launch quickly' to 'withstand growth and responsibility of scale'; read ~20 books (I can’t believe it myself) and made my best comeback to physics in many years…“, — said the AI CTO of the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
He is convinced: the future is AI + physics, and the combination of AI with quantum computing is especially interesting. «This is no longer 'somewhere in the future', it is coming faster than we used to think,» the IT expert noted.
Ovcharenko admitted: «Now the question to myself is: why was all this done — and where to go next? After such a sprint, I want the next step not to be „even bigger“, but more precise: with meaning, focus, and vision.»
Many IT people assumed that Ovcharenko would look for a new project and leave the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Today it turned out: it was an experiment.
Today, Ovcharenko explained that the post was part of an experiment with a personal AI newsroom assembled on OpenClaw. In 24 hours, his profile received 874 views (+365% compared to the previous week).
The architecture, according to the IT expert, looked like this:
a separate Mac mini — only for AI processes;
a separate Google account for assistants;
Drive vault with a «knowledge trajectory»;
idea board in draw.io;
Slack;
a shared photo pool for quick work with visuals.
And most importantly, the «team of assistants»:
News Scout — monitoring public signals.
Hype Radar — captures peaks of discussion.
Context Librarian — pulls up personal context.
Post Composer — generates 2–3 post variants.
Guard/Editor — checks wording and risks.
Photo Curator — suggests photos for a narrative.
«AI doesn’t post for me. It drafts the post. The publication and responsibility are always mine,» he emphasized.
In his first post, Ovcharenko explicitly stated that his technology focus is AI + physics, with a particular interest in combining AI and quantum computing. So rather than a career turnaround, it’s more of a demonstration of how AI orchestration works in a personal brand.
