Palantir sues former AI engineers who allegedly stole confidential information for a competitor
Palantir Technologies Inc. has sued two former top artificial intelligence engineers, alleging they stole documents and information to help launch a “copycat” company called Percepta.
Palantir Technologies Inc. has sued two former top artificial intelligence engineers, alleging they stole documents and information to help launch a “copycat” company called Percepta.
Today, Palantir filed a lawsuit against Radha Jain and Joanna Cohen, alleging that both women were entrusted with the company's "crown jewels," including its source code, in which the company invested billions of dollars, Bloomberg reports .
“Jain and Cohen were far from ordinary employees,” Palantir’s lawsuit states. “Jain designed and built Palantir’s flagship software, and Cohen interacted directly with some of Palantir’s largest and most important clients.”
According to Palantir, Jane and Cohen engaged in fraudulent activity for many months and lied about their plans when they were fired in November 2024 and February 2025, respectively. The company said their activities became known earlier this month when venture capital firm General Catalyst announced the launch of Percepta.
Palantir called Percepta a “copycat competitor,” noting that its CEO and many other executives are former employees of the company.
The women violated their employment agreements and non-compete agreements, Palantir said. Cohen also allegedly stole “highly confidential documents” the day before she was fired from Palantir, sending them to herself via Slack.
Palantir is seeking a court order that would require Jane and Cohen to abide by non-compete agreements, as well as return assets seized from the company.
