Chief designer and co-owner of Fire Point Denis Shtilerman drew attention to the risks for Ukraine due to the strategic partnership of the American company Palantir with the Nebius Group, the restructured former Dutch parent company of the Russian Yandex.
According to Shtilerman, Ukraine today possesses the most valuable array of combat data in the world, for which the state paid with thousands of lives. This array contains millions of hours of drone video, data on the operation of air defense, target recognition, the use of unmanned systems, sensors, and electronic warfare equipment.
"This is one of the main assets we have gained in this war. Its strategic and commercial value is enormous. And this resource cannot be given away as if it were worth nothing," Denis Shtilerman emphasized in his post on X.
He recalled that Palantir is already deeply integrated into working with Ukrainian combat data and, together with state structures, participates in the Brave1 Dataroom project, where artificial intelligence models are trained on real data from the front.
However, on September 8, Palantir announced a strategic partnership with Nebius, calling it its priority partner in building a sovereign AI infrastructure. Nebius is headed by Yandex co-founder Arkady Volozh, who in 2022 was sanctioned by the EU for promoting Russian state narratives, censoring information about the war and the Bucha tragedy, and participating in the preparation of the “Yarovaya law.”
"And now a company headed by the co-founder of Yandex with such a sanctions history is becoming a strategic partner of Palantir in the field of AI infrastructure. The same Palantir that works with Ukrainian combat data," the co-owner of Fire Point noted.
Denis Shtilerman called for reviewing the terms of interaction with Western partners and protecting the country's strategic resources.
"We must either receive a commensurate benefit from them or stop cooperating. Our combat data is not free raw material for Western technology corporations. It is a strategic asset of the state. Ukraine paid for it with blood. We have no right to simply give away the most valuable thing we have," concluded Chief Designer Shtilerman.
