The "Panelki" service with a database of comics in Ukrainian has appeared in Ukraine

Ukrainian Product & experience designer Alex Prime, together with the translation community «Third Parallel», created the web platform «Panels». This is an interactive database of manga and comics published in Ukrainian, which allows users to track releases, monitor prices, and maintain their own virtual libraries.

Developer Alex Prime announced the launch of the project on Reddit, where he shared development details and the functionality of the new non-commercial resource.

On the panels.in.ua website, users can find a calendar of upcoming announcements, view the latest releases, and use thematic collections based on popular universes or characters. There is also an opportunity to publish your collection to share with friends.

In addition, the platform offers statistics on the development of the Ukrainian comic book market and ratings of publishers, including Nasha Idea, VARVAR Publishing, MAL’OPUS, «Ridna mova», Molfar, and others. According to the project, the peak of comic book releases in Ukrainian occurred in 2025, when 488 editions were released. 2026 may surpass this figure, as it already has 313 editions.

«We have been looking for a convenient place for a long time where you can find information about Ukrainian publications — and we didn’t find it. So we made it ourselves. We love comics and want the Ukrainian market to develop, and readers to be able to easily find what they are interested in,» the authors of the project note.

According to the developer, the site took several months to create. The project exists on the pure enthusiasm of the creators, but its technical support — hosting, domain, and database — requires constant financial costs.

Recall that in early 2026, IT expert Taras Kovaliv launched an aggregator of domestic bookstores, Kebuk. The service allows you to compare prices for book editions, keep a reading diary, and use a secondary market platform to popularize legal reading and combat piracy.
