Crews lost her ability to move at the age of 16. She posted a photo of her name on X (Twitter), which she was able to write on her own in a graphics editor for the first time in 20 years. This is reported by Interesting Engineering.
Her post has garnered over two million views and received a comment from Elon Musk. «She controls her computer with just her thoughts. Most people don’t realize this is possible», — the Neuralink CEO noted.
Crews has the ID P9 in Neuralink’s PRIME trial, which aims to test BCI (brain-computer interface) chips in humans. Once implanted, the chip allows users to control digital interfaces using brain signals.
«It was brain surgery, they drilled a hole in my skull and inserted 128 wires into my motor cortex. The chip is about the size of a dollar quarter», — Audrey Crews wrote.

She added that the device does not restore physical mobility and is intended «solely for telepathy». Crews said she is in Miami, where she underwent surgery, but will return home soon. «We will be releasing more videos explaining the process in more detail. I am the first woman in the world to have this done», — the patient said.
Audrey Crews also shared additional images that she created using her thoughts on a computer.
