Had to bribe Russian customs officers: Malyuk revealed new details about special operation "Spiderweb"

SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk revealed new details about the implementation of the special operation Spiderweb, during which 41 aircraft were hit at four Russian airfields.
Preparations for Operation Spiderweb began in November 2023, when massive shelling of Ukrainian cities began. One of the key aspects was logistics — it was necessary to deliver drones and special equipment deep behind enemy lines.
They used autonomous «houses» specifically designed for drones. They had solar panels and EcoFlow batteries to power them, as they were considering conducting the operation in winter at temperatures of -50°C.
The «houses» were transported separately. This caused difficulties at customs, as they contained sanctioned goods.
«A whole story began, we were even forced to bribe Russian customs officers,» Malyuk said during a meeting with journalists.
The implementation of «Spiderweb» took one year, six months, and nine days. A limited circle of people knew about the operation: the manufacturers of the drones, the houses, and the people who transported everything were not privy to the plan.
«Our strikes will last exactly as long as the Russian Federation terrorizes Ukrainians with missiles and suicide bombers.» SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk commented on the special operation «Website»
