According to confirmed data, in the first half of 2026, combat units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down more than 9,000 Russian drones of the Shahed, Geranium, and Gerber types with the help of high-speed Sting interceptor drones.
This was reported to dev.ua by the manufacturer of Sting drones, the Ukrainian MilTech company "Wild Hornets", stating that according to this indicator, its interceptor drones remain the most effective means in their class for the ninth month in a row.
"The significant increase in the number of hits in recent months was facilitated by the introduction of the Hornet Vision Ctrl remote control system for drones, which allows pilots to remotely control the interceptors. The units that were the first to use Hornet Vision Ctrl demonstrate the best dynamics in terms of the number of enemy targets hit," the company added.
Recall that the Wild Hornets company officially introduced the Hornet Vision Ctrl remote control drone technology in March of this year. It is part of the innovative Hornet Vision ecosystem, which provides high-quality video transmission, reliable communication, and low signal latency over long distances, which is especially important for remote control of high-speed interceptor drones.
In addition, the company noted that with the help of Sting, the Ukrainian military effectively destroys enemy reconnaissance UAVs and attack drones of other types, but there is no separate counting of such targets.
