Ratel begins assembling interceptor drones that can be launched from ground robots. The company also wants to unify NRCs and UAVs with common software

Ukrainian company Ratel Robotics is starting to assemble interceptor drones that can be launched directly from ground robots. The company is already developing special launch boxes for this and wants to train aerial and ground drones to work together.
Taras Ostapchuk, founder and CEO of Ratel Robotics, said this in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.
The company is already working on boxes for launching FPV drones from ground robots. They can be equipped with both Ratel's own drones and devices from other manufacturers. Now such boxes are being prepared for interceptors as well.
For now, Ratel is betting on multi-rotor drones — devices with multiple propellers. The new interceptors will not have jet engines. Later, the manufacturer wants to tackle aircraft-type drones.
Ostapchuk also wants to create a system in which ground, air, and later water drones can help each other. Ratel wants to create common software, thanks to which different drones can exchange data and work together. To this end, the company is testing an autopilot for ground robots, which it plans to later adapt for air drones.
According to Ostapchuk, the company has so far spent about $200,000 on the development of the air direction. However, much more expensive projects are ahead, in particular the development of aircraft-type drones, which will require several million dollars.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that Ratel Robotics has developed a launch platform for FPV drones on fiber optics, which is installed on the Ratel H ground robot.
