A Ukrainian schoolgirl from Dnipro became the absolute winner of the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics — for the first time in the country's history

The European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) took place in Cesenatico, Italy, from May 12 to 18. The competition was attended by 248 participants from 67 countries, including teams from outside Europe who came specifically for the in-person event.
The Ukrainian team returned with four medals: one gold, two silver, and one bronze. In the European team standings, it is fourth place, the Federation of Olympiad Programming said in a statement .
The highest individual result among all participants was achieved by Darya Perekopska, an 11th grade student at the Dnipro Scientific Lyceum of Information Technologies. This is the first time in the history of Ukraine that a representative of our country has become the absolute winner of EGOI.
Maria Rapina, a 10th grade student at Kharkiv Academic Lyceum No. 45, won a silver medal. Anastasia Yaremko from Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum — also silver. Tetyana Zadniprovska from Volodymyr Krasytsky Lyceum No. 1 in Khmelnytskyi — bronze.
The coach of three of the four participants is Valentyn Melnyk. The team leaders are Serhiy Kolodyazhny and Melissa Galiba. The trip was organized by the Ukrainian Olympiad Programming Federation with the support of the Citadel company.
