Perplexity, an artificial intelligence-based search engine that competes with Google, has released Perplexity Labs, a tool that can create everything from reports and spreadsheets to dashboards and simple web applications.
Using Perplexity Labs is like having a team to work on a variety of work and personal projects, the startup claims on its blog. It can conduct research and analysis in 10 minutes, using a set of tools such as deep web search, code execution, graphing and image creation to create reports and visualizations.
According to Perplexity, Labs can create interactive web applications, as well as write code to structure data, apply formulas, and create documents.
All the files created during the workflow—from generated charts and images to CSV files and code—are organized in the Assets tab, where you can view and download everything you need.
Perplexity Labs is available to Pro subscribers ($20 per month) on the web, iOS, and Android. Coming soon to the Perplexity apps for Mac and Windows.
Perplexity competes with Google. The startup once trolled its rival Google in a new ad, calling the search engine Poogle and reminding people of pizza with glue .
In addition, the startup is considering buying TikTok and has even published a plan for the complete transformation of the Chinese social network, which involves using Nvidia technologies and integrating with Perplexity AI.
