Ukraine will hold the first state AI hackathon — Diia.AI Contest. Winners will receive grants of up to $8,000. How to participate

Ten teams that demonstrate the strongest developments will present them at the final event — Demo Day. The best solutions will have the opportunity to be integrated directly into the «Diya» application. In addition, the winners of the hackathon will receive grants of up to $8,000, as well as mentoring support from leading specialists of EPAM Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Affairs reports.

«We generated ideas for hackathon tasks based on the requests and needs of Diia users. At the hackathon, teams, together with mentors, will work on AI solutions that will not only be a tool for improving the quality of services, but can also become the basis for new functionality in Diia, which will be used by millions of Ukrainians,» notes Danylo Tsvok, Chief AI Officer of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, CEO of WINWIN AI Center of Excellence.

Who can participate?

The hackathon is open to engineers, scientists, and any professionals with experience in creating AI solutions. You can register individually or as part of a team of 2 to 6 people.

The hackathon will be held in three directions:

• AI for government services: development of smart assistants, navigation in government services and generation of requests according to user needs;
• AI services for business and entrepreneurs: creation of services for automating reporting, legal support, accounting for sole proprietors and doing business;
• AI for optimizing government processes: accelerating operational tasks, document analysis, data verification, prototyping new services.

The Hackathon will be held online from November 14 to 23, and Demo Day will be held live in Kyiv on November 29.
