Kyrylo Kozak, founder of Upwork AI automation startup Getmany, generated the online browser game "Pixel Ukraine" in two days, using 826 million tokens in the Claude chatbot and the Claude Code tool. In it, players can travel across Ukraine and its cities over a distance of over 5,000 km with integrated radio and chat.

The developer announced this on his social networks.

With context caching, Kozak was able to reduce the potential cost of the Anthropic API from $4,367 to $400, as the model only generated about 2 million tokens of new code and text (another 806 million tokens were spent rereading the context). In total, 97 AI agents, 18 automated scripts, and 5,401 tool calls were used during development. Testing was conducted using Playwright.

The game route is 5846 km and is divided into 585 segments of 10 km. The map covers 20 cities, 777 landmarks, as well as 233 km of river and sea route by ship from Izmail to Odessa. Players can travel by various modes of transport and pass through temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk and Yalta.

At the beginning of the game, you can choose how you want to travel — on foot or by scooter, motorcycle or bicycle. You can also choose from several Ukrainian radio stations and determine the starting point of your journey.

The project’s technical stack includes OpenStreetMap data (8 GB) deployed on a custom Overpass server in Docker. The visualization uses 236 images from RetroDiffusion (cost $162) and 169 images generated via FLUX.2 klein on Cloudflare Workers AI within the free limit.

The soundtrack was created with ElevenLabs, and streaming of real Ukrainian radio stations was integrated. The multiplayer is powered by Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects ($5 per month), and the development was carried out on a Claude Max subscription ($600 per month).

The project is currently in the closed alpha testing stage, with 249 users already participating. The project is funded by community donations: in particular, in one evening, players raised 5,100 UAH so that the developer could add the city of Vasylkiv to the map.
