Recall that in May of last year, Donald Trump promised to release Ross Ulbricht during his election campaign. The latter has already spent more than 10 years behind bars, and in 2015 he received a double life sentence and 40 years without the right to parole.
Ross Ulbricht is the creator of the darknet site Silk Road, which was used for mass drug sales. He ran the site under the nickname Dread Pirate Roberts. The courts where Ulbricht was on trial also dealt with contract killings. At the same time, he became a cult figure on the darknet. A film called Silk Road (in some translations, «The Antisocial Network») was made about Ulbricht.
Interestingly, in November last year, as dev.ua reported, cryptocurrency betting platform Polymarket announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had obtained a search warrant for the company’s CEO, Shane Koplan, and seized his phone and other gadgets.
Last year, Polymarket even bet on the use of nuclear weapons.
