Yesterday, May 14, dev.ua reported on the government's decision to transfer PlayCity under its control instead of the Ministry of Digital Economy, however, it was initially stated that this decision was not final, as the resolution had not been made public.
Today it became known that the relevant resolution of May 13 appeared on the Government Portal. With this decision, the Cabinet of Ministers added the state agency to the list of bodies it directly coordinates.
We remind you that this change was first announced by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
This decision was then confirmed by Forbes Ukraine sources, who linked this initiative to Hetmantsev.
Despite the government's support, the resolution was still awaiting the prime minister's signature, sources in the Cabinet and the gambling industry said. There was no official publication on the government's website, and one of the interlocutors suggested that the document could be returned for reconsideration, but this did not happen, judging by today's news.
Recall that in early April, Hetmantsev announced his demand for personnel decisions regarding the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Economy and PlayCity. According to the People's Deputy, they did not ensure the commissioning of the state online monitoring system within the time limit specified by law, as well as the establishment of effective limits on player spending on the game. Also, PlayCity did not ensure control over compliance with the legislation on gambling advertising.
