Mobile game developer Playrix is closing its subsidiary studios in Ukraine: Boolat, 4Friends, HomaGames, and Zagrava.
This is reported by the Telegram channel "Overheard in IT".
The company's Ukrainian studios had a total staff of 650 employees. Most of them — approximately 60–75% (including artists, programmers, and designers) — were transferred directly to the main Playrix staff, according to "Overheard in IT."
At the same time, all administrative staff, as well as employees not involved in specific projects, were laid off.
The official reason for such layoffs is the restructuring of teams and their adaptation to the new realities of the gaming industry.
