Personal tax assistant. Diia will send notifications about tax debts
Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeria Koval spoke about the tax functionality being created by the developers of «Diya». It will allow paying taxes via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeria Koval spoke about the tax functionality being created by the developers of «Diya». It will allow paying taxes via Apple Pay or Google Pay.
In a column for RBC-Ukraine, Koval reported that the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the State Tax Service are working on an updated service for the portal and application «Diya». It will allow Ukrainians to see a complete picture of their tax assessments and property directly.
«Users will be able to see in real time not only dry debt figures, but also detailed information about their tax objects. These are land plots, apartments, houses, non-residential real estate and vehicles. The data is automatically pulled from official state registers, which allows the user to compare them with the real state of affairs,» the deputy minister explained.
She said that the service will provide access to digital copies of tax notices-decisions (TDs) on the basis of which taxes are assessed.
In «Actions», users will be able to open a document, see the amount of the tax liability, the area of the property, or the characteristics of the car for which the payment was accrued.
«For example, if you sold a car or apartment several years ago, but they are still reflected as your tax objects, you can quickly contact the tax office to update the data without waiting for a visit from the enforcement service. The system works as a filter: you see a discrepancy in the registers before it turns into a real debt,» notes Valeria Koval.
According to her, many Ukrainians become tax «debtors» involuntarily simply because they were unaware of the fact of the assessment. She said that the new service will work as a personal assistant, notifying about the appearance of a new assessment, the approaching payment deadline, or the occurrence of an overdue payment through notifications.
«You can pay both the principal amount of tax and the accrued penalty separately for each type of obligation. Support for modern payment methods, such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, makes this process a matter of seconds. After the transaction, the payment receipt will be available for viewing and downloading,» the deputy minister added.
