In the first half of 2026, non-resident companies providing electronic services in Ukraine paid over UAH 8.9 billion in VAT to the state budget. This was reported by the Acting Head of the State Tax Service (STS) of Ukraine, Lesya Karnaukh, emphasizing that each purchase of digital content by Ukrainians is transformed into revenue for the state.
In the first half of 2026, non-resident companies providing electronic services in Ukraine paid over UAH 8.9 billion in VAT to the state budget. This was reported by the Acting Head of the State Tax Service (STS) of Ukraine, Lesya Karnaukh, emphasizing that each purchase of digital content by Ukrainians is transformed into revenue for the state.
The State Tax Service noted that compared to the same period last year, the volume of revenues from the "Google tax" has increased significantly. In currency equivalent, international payers transferred:
$106.7 million ($21 million more than last year);
82.4 million euros (5.9 million 'dhj more than last year).
"Every day, each of us interacts with global digital platforms many times. Without leaving home, we buy music, games, movies, and educational applications. Each such purchase is an income to the budget," emphasized Lesya Karnaukh.
Among the leaders in terms of taxes paid, such global giants as Google, Apple, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy, and Netflix traditionally remain.
At the same time, the number of payers in Ukraine continues to expand actively. Since the beginning of 2026 alone, 16 more non-resident companies have officially registered as VAT payers. In total, as of July 1, 2026, 157 foreign companies are already registered in Ukraine.
