The Verkhovna Rada did not vote for the "tax on OLX"

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the Verkhovna Rada was unable to gather enough votes to adopt Bill No. 14025 on taxation of digital platforms.
According to Zheleznyak, the Verkhovna Rada «failed the vote» on this bill — only 168 deputies supported it.
«The government and the OP wanted to dump the unpopular decisions (signed by Zelensky and Svyrydenko) on the Rada. The Rada refused. It is very telling that they did not even collect 168 votes from the 7th time,» Yaroslav Zheleznyak commented.
The Batkivshchyna party stated that they opposed this initiative, in particular because of the risks of taxing sales on the online services OLX and Prom.
«Our efforts were not in vain. The scandalous, anti-people and unfair bill No. 14025 has been rejected. There will be no taxation of sales on OLX and Prom,» RBC-Ukraine reports the words of party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.
According to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, now the Cabinet of Ministers will demonstrate to the IMF the fulfillment of obligations and will register a government bill on its behalf, which will cover:
- taxation of platforms;
- cancellation of the benefit for parcels less than 150 euros;
- introduction of a 5% military levy after martial law;
- introduction of VAT for individual entrepreneurs.
Recall that the explanatory note to bill No. 14025 indicated that digital platforms (such as OLX, Prom, Rozetka, and many others) will be required to submit reports on the income of «accountable sellers» to the State Tax Service every year by January 31 .
