Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not proceed to the vote on the appointment of former head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs Mykhailo Fedorov to the position of Minister of Defense.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. First, he said that the Verkhovna Rada did not appoint Denys Shmyhal, who previously headed the Ministry of Defense, to the position of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.
«For — 210. The Minister of Energy was absent from the country for 55 days,» Zheleznyak noted.
He then reported that the deputies were unable to move on to the issue of appointing the Minister of Defense and declared a recess. After that, the Verkhovna Rada decided to postpone the vote on the new appointments until tomorrow.
«The country was left without a Minister of Energy, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Minister of Defense during a full-scale war. P-planning,» commented Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
Recall that earlier the parliament supported the resignations of Denys Shmyhal from the post of Minister of Defense (in favor — 265 votes) and Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Minister of Digital Transformation (in favor — 270 votes).
