The attacker massively registered mobile numbers of Ukrainian operators, using which he created fake accounts on social networks, the SBU reports .
Later, the Russians used these «accounts» to «disperse» Russian content allegedly from Ukrainian citizens. So far, more than 10,000 fake pages that were created through the bot farm have been neutralized.
The perpetrator is in custody. He faces from 8 years to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Previously, dev.ua reported on two residents of Vinnytsia who created a pro-Russian bot farm for 20,000 SIMs to spread IPSO. Hackers were also detained in Kyiv who also organized a bot farm to spread disinformation about the war in Ukraine and discredit the Defense Forces.
