"The popularity of Copilot in Ukraine is constantly growing." Microsoft CEO told how Ukrainian businesses are implementing the corporation's AI assistant and what effect it has
The head of Microsoft in Ukraine, Leonid Polupan, told how Copilot is spreading among Ukrainian users and what solutions to expect in the near future.
The head of Microsoft in Ukraine, Leonid Polupan, told how Copilot is spreading among Ukrainian users and what solutions to expect in the near future.
«The popularity of Copilot in Ukraine is constantly growing. At the same time, it is important to understand that this is no longer a separate product, but an entire ecosystem. Microsoft offers several varieties of Copilot: for Microsoft 365, for cybersecurity, as well as Copilot Chat, a separate tool available to all Windows users for free. Depending on the purpose, these products help in everyday work, increase security, or automate typical tasks,» he said in an interview with UP.
There is currently no clearly digitized information on the number of Copilot users. «Copilot Chat can be installed on a computer, tablet, or smartphone for free. So it’s difficult to measure popularity, as there are both private and business users,» Polupan explained.
He reminded that according to the Work Trend Index, about 75% of employees who work with information every day already use some kind of generative AI tool, even if the company has not officially implemented them. «This creates a new challenge for businesses: to control which tools employees use, how they work with data, and what risks this entails. Copilot is a tool with proven effectiveness: it is secure, works only with your data, does not transfer it outside, does not use it for its own learning, and adapts specifically to your context,» says the Microsoft top manager.
Polupan gave an example of a successful implementation of Copilot by a business. «Yasno, a company responsible for electricity supply, implemented Copilot in its contact center. According to management, this allowed us to reduce the average processing time of one request from 4.5 to 3.5 minutes — that is, by a whole minute, or by about 25%. For such a large-scale organization, this is very significant,» Polupan shared. According to him, Ukrainian business no longer needs separate motivation to create and use AI tools. «Reality itself is the best incentive. Companies are looking for solutions that will help them work more efficiently in conditions of constant challenges,» Polupan noted.
