Thanks to Palantir software, Ukrainian operators have been able to effectively control a large number of drones during a single operation. The integrated system converts the coordination of air strikes into a precise mathematical model. During mission planning, screens in the command center display interactive maps, optimal flight paths, and analytical data that AI calculates and overlays in real time.
The program constantly analyzes large amounts of information, including interception points of previous waves of UAVs, Russian radar coverage areas, enemy air defense fire density, and the location of anti-aircraft systems. Based on this information, algorithms plot routes that bypass dangerous areas. This allows each subsequent group of drones to approach the target through newly discovered «gaps» in the enemy’s defense network.
To protect against retaliatory strikes, the intelligence officers created a decentralized control network. The system does not have a single physical center and is distributed among dozens of locations throughout the country. According to representatives of the GUR, if one of the monitoring nodes is hit, other points instantly take control of the drones without losing communication.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine is scaling the use of artificial intelligence on the battlefield by expanding its partnership with the American tech giant Palantir Technologies. One of the key projects was the Brave1 Dataroom platform, where developers gain access to unique data sets from the front to train their algorithms.
Last month, military and popular blogger Valeriy Marcus questioned the benefits that Ukraine supposedly receives from its cooperation with Palantir. He called the massive data sets on the Russian-Ukrainian war held by Ukrainian military institutions «Ukraine’s main international capital.» Marcus added that he did not understand what specific benefits Ukraine would receive if it shared this data with Palantir.
