The Uzhhorod City District Court of the Transcarpathian region has considered the case materials on the attempted illegal departure from Ukraine of another IT specialist. We tell you the details.
According to the case materials, on January 18 at 8:10 p.m., a programmer from Turbogaz Uzhhorod LLC was detained by border guards 2,500 m from the state border for attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine into the Slovak Republic outside the established checkpoints.
The man did not appear at the court hearing, but asked to consider the case without his participation, pleading guilty.
The programmer said that he and another man were traveling «along the road leading towards the state border, bypassing the checkpoint.»
The court found the IT professional guilty of attempting to illegally cross the border and imposed an administrative penalty on him in the form of a fine of UAH 8,500. The programmer must also pay a court fee of UAH 605.6 to the state.
The resolution may be appealed to the Transcarpathian Court of Appeal through the Uzhhorod City District Court within ten days from the date of its issuance.
