The Hlybotsky District Court of Chernivtsi Oblast considered the case of a programmer who claimed to have a third child in order to travel abroad under the guise of a father with many children. We tell you the details of the story.
According to the case materials, on March 7 last year, a man presented border guards in the village of Terebleche, Chernivtsi district, Chernivtsi region with a knowingly forged official document, which gave him the right to cross the state border of Ukraine in wartime.
However, the forgery was discovered immediately, and the man was sent to trial.
During the court hearing, the programmer admitted that he had submitted forged documents to passport control, which he had made himself. He explained that he was a programmer and had two minor children.
The IT guy also explained that he doesn’t remember exactly when he bought a blue birth certificate form from a stranger in one of the bars in Dnipro. Later, while at one of the computer clubs in Dnipro, he entered the data into the child’s birth certificate form using Photoshop on a color printer.
Before the March 8 holiday, he and his family decided to go abroad, so he presented a forged certificate when crossing the border to leave Ukraine, since he had no legal grounds for going abroad.
The programmer was eventually tried for forging documents and was sentenced to a fine of 17,000 UAH.
He must also pay the state UAH 1,514.56 in procedural costs.
The court verdict may be appealed to the Chernivtsi Court of Appeal through the Hlybotsky District Court of Chernivtsi Region within 30 days from the date of its announcement by all participants in the process.
