A programmer is on trial in Kherson for stealing an AMD Ryzen processor from a Nova Poshta branch. The IT worker is currently in custody: details of the case
On April 24, the Kherson City Court of the Kherson region considered an indictment against a programmer accused of taking possession of an AMD Ryzen 7 5000 series processor while in the premises of Nova Poshta LLC No. 9 in Kherson on March 6, 2025 at 1:47 p.m. Its cost is UAH 11,320, respectively, the IT professional caused damage to Nova Poshta LLC in the specified amount.

The programmer’s actions were classified as robbery combined with violence, committed under martial law.
The prosecutor filed a motion to extend the preventive measure chosen for the accused in the form of detention. The accused’s defense attorney filed a motion to change the preventive measure, which is justified by the fact that the accused does not intend to hide from the court, is deprived of the opportunity to hide or distort things and documents, because the material evidence was seized and purchased by the accused, and does not intend to influence witnesses or victims, since he has fully admitted his guilt.
The accused has sick parents who need help and his place of residence is characterized positively. The accused believes that there are no grounds to keep him in custody and requests house arrest for himself.
The court accepted the proceedings for consideration and scheduled a hearing for 10:30 a.m. on May 2. The court also remanded the accused in custody until June 23, with detention in the Mykolaiv Detention Center. The court refused to grant the defense attorney’s motion to change the preventive measure.
The decision may be appealed in terms of the extension of the preventive measure directly to the Kherson Court of Appeal within five days from the date of its announcement.
