The Pervomaisky City District Court of Mykolaiv Oblast found a software engineer from Neonika Hub LLC guilty of draft evasion during mobilization and using knowingly forged documents. What did the IT worker get for this?
As noted in the court verdict of July 2, 2026, the accused was subject to military service and had no legal grounds for receiving a deferment from mobilization. At the same time, in late 2024, he contacted unidentified individuals who, for a fee, agreed to produce false medical documents regarding his wife.
According to the investigation, the accomplices forged a certificate from the medical and social expert commission establishing the woman’s second disability group, as well as the conclusion of the medical and advisory commission on the need for constant care from her husband.
Having received the documents in the mail, the programmer submitted them to the territorial recruitment center along with an application for a deferment from mobilization due to the need to care for his wife. Based on these documents, he was issued a corresponding deferment certificate.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers determined that the documents were forged. The man was charged with evading military service during mobilization and using knowingly forged documents.
In May 2026, the programmer entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. He fully admitted his guilt, cooperated with the investigation, and provided information about the individuals who produced the forged documents.
Despite criminal proceedings for evading mobilization, at the time of the case, the man already had a valid reservation from mobilization at his place of work, which the court separately noted among the circumstances characterizing the defendant’s personality.
The court took into account sincere remorse, positive character, lack of prior convictions, and cooperation with the investigation. The verdict also noted that the defendant supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine and had a reservation at his place of work at the time of the case.
As a result, the court approved the plea agreement and imposed a fine of UAH 34,000. Separately, the defendant undertook to transfer UAH 50,000 to the official account of the United24 platform to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine within 20 days after the verdict came into force.
The total amount of payments under the terms of the sentence is 84,000 UAH.
