“We work with barracks not far from Nikolaev.” In Nikolaev, a military programmer from an aviation squadron was tried for “leaking” the location of Bayraktar to his wife in a messenger. Here’s what he got for it
The Novoodesky District Court of the Mykolaiv Region considered the case of a native of Kharkiv who, being a military serviceman and serving as a software engineer in an aviation squadron of a military unit on the territory of the Mykolaiv International Airport, sent his wife a photo in the Signal messenger, which captured the mobile control station of the Bayraktar TV-2 UAV with the caption «Not far from Mykolaiv, we work with barricades.»
The Novoodesky District Court of the Mykolaiv Region considered the case of a native of Kharkiv who, being a military serviceman and serving as a software engineer in an aviation squadron of a military unit on the territory of the Mykolaiv International Airport, sent his wife a photo in the Signal messenger, which captured the mobile control station of the Bayraktar TV-2 UAV with the caption «Not far from Mykolaiv, we work with barricades.»
This, according to the court’s conclusion, allows the Russian occupation forces to determine the location of the Bayraktar aviation squadron units in the Mykolaiv region and subsequently use such information to launch missile and bomb strikes against the UAV units.
On February 27, a plea agreement was concluded between the prosecutor of the Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region and the accused.
The programmer fully admitted his guilt in the said act.
The court approved the plea agreement and sentenced the programmer to two years in prison.
However, the sentence was later changed, imposing a punishment in the form of a service restriction for military personnel for a period of two years, with a deduction of 20 percent of the amount of his financial support to the state income.
The verdict can be appealed through the Novoodesky District Court of Mykolaiv Region within 30 days from the date of its pronouncement.
