The first state hackathon has been held. The solutions of three teams that received grants of $8,000 can be integrated into "Diia"

The hackathon was attended by 25 teams, who for three weeks studied at 6 workshops from experts from EPAM Ukraine and Amazon Web Services, as well as Q&A sessions with the «Diia» team, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Affairs reports .

The 10 teams with the strongest prototypes made it to the finals. 3 of them received grants totaling $8,000. Their AI solutions may appear in «Diia.»

• First place — the team «The Role of LLMOK is Overestimated» with an AI translator for official document approval, which makes the process of translating and notarizing citizens' personal documents accessible and fully digital through «Diia».

• The second place is taken by the DiAI team. Thanks to their service, citizens will be able to record parking violations using photos and geolocation through «Diia». As a result, there will be less traffic jams and more parking spaces, including for people with disabilities.
• Third place goes to the ShiftWave AI team, which developed an AI legal document builder that allows citizens to create legally competent contracts in minutes — without risky online templates and the cost of lawyers.

Hackathon participants also developed:

• AI-navigator for utility services — helps to quickly determine where to contact with a utility problem and automatically forms a competent appeal, saving users' time.
• Photo verification service for documents — ensures submission of photos for documents in «Actions» the first time, with instant feedback on the quality of the image.
• «Rodovid» — a digital family tree — helps you research, preserve, and visualize your family history.
• Internal AI assistant «Yana» for the design team. It will automate routine work in creating new «Diia» services, accelerate prototyping of AI solutions for internal teams of the Ministry of Digital Affairs and partners, and facilitate onboarding of new teams.

All participants learned how to create AI assistants, work with large language models on the EPAM AI/Run platform, and automate query processing.

«The teams did not wait for ideal conditions, but created reality here and now — the intensity of the work is best illustrated by the numbers: 800 million tokens and 120,000 requests passed through our EPAM AI/Run platform alone. This hackathon proved that Ukraine has a strong potential in developing AI solutions in the field of public services,» said Vadym Vlasenko, AI Director of EPAM Ukraine.
