On November 26, the Beregov District Court of the Transcarpathian region considered materials on the prosecution of a programmer from the IT company Space Whale, who attempted to illegally travel abroad. We will tell you the details.
The court case states that on November 12, 2025 at 00:05, an AIT citizen was discovered within the border strip at a distance of about 1,500 meters from the state border, who, together with other persons, attempted to illegally cross the state border from Ukraine to Hungary outside the established state border crossing points.
By his actions, citizen Vaityvets violated the requirements of Articles 9 and 12 of the Law of Ukraine «On the State Border of Ukraine» dated 04.11.1991, that is, he committed an administrative offense, the liability for which is provided for in Part 2 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses .
The programmer was not brought to court.
At the same time, a statement was attached to the case materials on the administrative offense, according to which the IT employee requested that the case be considered without his participation, that he had no complaints, statements, or claims, and that he fully admitted his guilt in the offense committed.
The court decided that the actions of the IT worker constituted an administrative offense, which was expressed in an attempt to cross the State Border of Ukraine, in any way outside the checkpoints across the State Border of Ukraine, as part of a group of people.
The court ruled to find the IT worker guilty of committing an administrative offense and impose a fine of UAH 11,050 on him, and to collect a court fee of UAH 605.60 from the violator to the state revenue.
The resolution may be appealed to the Transcarpathian Court of Appeal by the person who has been held administratively liable within ten days from the date of the resolution.
