«I’ve been in Canada for three years. And, to be honest, I hate my life here. Before the war in Ukraine, I worked as a programmer. Three months before the war, I found a great job, I really liked it. And then the war, the occupation, and moving. I lost my job. It’s so insulting, because I was actively looking for three months, and then there’s the war. I moved to Canada, worked as a programmer for a while, but my employer insisted on moving, so I was fired. I’ve been working as a cleaner for 1.5 years now. I feel like shit,» she said .
The specialist shared that she receives minimum wage. «It’s only enough to pay bills and food. For the minimum wage, I work like a slave. I come home — there’s not even time to rest. Finding a job is almost impossible. Maybe I’ll never work as a programmer again. I hate my job. Sometimes I cry from powerlessness at my job. I spent so much time studying to work as a cleaner. It’s a bummer. I don’t know if I want to stay here. Maybe it’s better to go back home. Because it’s hard. I don’t even know if I’ll see my parents. I don’t believe I’ll be able to find a better job. It was probably a mistake to come to Canada,» the specialist noted.
Social media users are reacting enthusiastically to the actress’s post.

Gennady Samolyuk, who uses the nickname bald.from.lviv, said that his «colleague lived and prospered in Vancouver long before the war, working as a programmer.» «He bought himself an apartment. And two months ago he lost his job because of AI. Life requires constant adaptation. I think that the job of a programmer is a thing of the past, unfortunately,» he believes.
«A programmer friend of mine from Kharkiv also suffered in Canada and eventually moved to Poland — happy as a rock. Don’t suffer and go to Eastern Europe, you have nothing to lose,» advisesnazarij.jpg.
« Where did you relocate from? That’s why I’m staying in Ukraine, because I have a good job here, related to IT, and despite the danger, I understand that it will be difficult for me to adapt abroad, to find a job that would allow me to have a comfortable standard of living like at home. Maybe try looking for freelance projects. Or you can always return to Ukraine to safe regions, Frankivsk, Lviv,» advises user Liliya Rozhniv.
