«In accordance with the defense priorities set by the Ukrainian government, Quantum Systems has received an order from the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine to supply 15,000 interceptor drones. This was a result of investments in the Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned systems WIY Drones,» the Quantum Systems press service said in a statement.
WIY Drones produces STRILA interceptor drones, designed to engage fast and maneuverable aerial targets. They can be launched from special mobile platforms to quickly respond to an enemy target, and reach speeds of over 300 km/h.
«Ukrainian engineers have developed some of the world’s most effective counter-drone technologies. Quantum Systems is bringing these solutions to the industrial level and helping Ukraine protect its airspace,» said Sven Kruk, Co-Chairman of the Board of Quantum Systems.
The new funding will allow WIY Drones to scale production of STRILA drones in Ukraine, and in the future may lead to the export of surplus products.
Previously, the Ukrainian company Frontline and the German-Ukrainian UAV manufacturer Quantum Systems deepened their cooperation and created the joint venture Quantum Frontline Industries.
